To be deemed competent in this qualification, you must demonstrate practical skills, knowledge, and understanding across a range of workplace safety and health competencies. There are no written exams or prerequisite qualifications required. Instead, your competence will be assessed through workplace-based evidence, observations, and professional discussions. You will need a reasonable standard of literacy and numeracy, as safety and health work involves interpreting and producing reports, including those containing numerical data.
Assessment of the course is determined by course work which accounts for 40% of the overall grade. As well as the final written examination which accounts for 60%.
