About the programme

This course is designed to meet the minimum requirements set forth for law enforcement personnel. The primary objective is to enhance participants’ understanding of use of force laws, agency-specific policies, and critical decision-making processes. Through facilitated discussions, case study analyses, and scenario-based training, the course aims to reinforce the principles of lawful and ethical use of force in various law enforcement situations.

Assessment

Assessment of the course is determined by course work which accounts for 40% of the overall grade. As well as the final written examination which accounts for 60%.

Instructional Approach

This course will involve a mix of lectures, discussions and presentations. To benefit fully, a student’s participation in all aspects of the course is required.

Applicants must have at least three (3) CSEC passes, including English Language, or equivalent qualifications. Mature applicants without formal qualifications may be considered based on relevant work experience.
